Hike to Mandor water fall

The hike to Mandor starts following a trail that goes flat besides the rail road tracks for 4 Km, always at the side of the Vilcanota River, that impresses us with it’s aggressive Rapids. After this, the trail goes into the old Coffee farm of Mandorpampa, then it continues deep into the cloud forest, following  the river for ½ hour before arriving to the cascade.  On the way it’s possible to see Coffee, Bananas, Avocado and Medicinal plants plantations. Then the trail gets more wilder and you can see Bromeliads, Orchids and many other type of plants, flowers and Butterflies that hang from trees and rocks. The waterfall is about 12 meters high, fresh crystalline water that comes all the way from the sacred Yanantin Mountain.

The trail Continues further up following the ridge but it gets more and more difficult as the vegetation has covered nearly everything, as one goes further up it’s more possible to see mammals like the Spectacle Bear, Coatis, and river otters.

The cost of the hike is US$ 10 per person and includes a nutritious Lunch Box. It’s alsopossible to arrange discounts for groups.
