ECO PARADISE: 05 DAYS 04 NIGHTS“ECOLOGICAL NATURE RESERVE” Day 01: Monkey Island
. Day 02 : "Cocha Perdida” (Lost Lake)
After breakfast we set forth on an adventure thought the virgin jungle, led by our professional local guide: today’s hike will take us to the “Cocha Perdida” (Lost Cocha). This site effectively constitutes a unique protected Ecosystem, Refuge and Feeding ground for a great diversity of jungle fauna including Nutria (Otter Lutra incarum), Cayman (New World Crocodile), Turtles (Charapa), Sachavaca (Amazonian Tapir) the majestic Jaguar, or “Otorongo” (Panthera onça).As well as many birds of striking plumage as well as an ample variety of species of fish. This area is unique and distinctively particular to the EcoAmazonía Reserve, by virtue of having remained altogether unaltered, and conveniently surrounded by large swamps and wetlands. One of the highlights of today’s tour is certainly the ascent to the “Mirador” (the “Amazonian Overlook”) built atop the greatest of treetops in the Amazonian forest, the revered “Shihuahuaco” (Diptrax alata, a relative of the Mimosa and Copaiba family) from where a grand view of the great and magical forest can be admired. This is complemented by a pleasant canoe tour around the lake, after which we return to the Lodge and a well earned lunch.
In the course of the afternoon, optional family visit to local family, to the botanical gardens and eco-swimming pool are available to guests and are free of any additional charge.. Return to Lodge and a delicious dinner
Day 03: BRIOLO AND GAMITANA RIVERS
Tambopata Ecological Reserve EcoAmazonía Lodge Rain Forest and Cloud Forest
Day 04: LAKE APU VICTOR
The start of the day is heralded by the beautiful singing of birds After breakfast we set off on our hike through the deep forest, following paths and trails with bridges surmounting deep ravines. Along the way to we shall have a chance to observe the “Cave of the Caymans” Continuing our walk, we eventually arrive at the majestic setting of LAKE APU VICTOR, a body of beautiful crystalline waters, surrounded by extensive swamps, and gigantic trees. After awhile we shall climb to the Mirador Amazónico, an overlook eminently suited for the purpose of bird watching. From this point we can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake as well as observe the numerous Parrots, Guacamayos (Macaws), Tucans, Camungos (Hornbill), Shanshos (Hoatzin) and Egrets, as well as other animal species that abound in the area, such as caymans, turtles and –with luck- the Giant Otter (Lutra incarum). After several hours, we effect our return to the Lodge and partake of lunch.
In the afternoon, we shall visit the Gamitana river, the source of which lies in the deep jungle, thus making it rather different from most of the other rivers, whose waters come tumbling down from the mountains. Along the shores can be seen caimans and turtles, other fauna and many kinds of butterflies. It is also possible to go for a swim. Back at Lodge in time for dinner.
