Ornithology –the study and observation of birds- carries a very compelling  fascination, not only for the scientific researcher but also for many other people who, without being “professional ornithologists” have found in “Birdwatching” a very pleasant and rewarding activity and hobby. 

Ecoamazonia Lodge, being an ecological and nature reserve is area with one of the largest recorded amount of bird species in the world and therefore, attracts many enthusiasts. We like to invite and contribute the visiting birdwatcher to increase his/her’s bird list, make new discoveries about avian  behaviour and ecology,  or simply help a birdwatchers’s dream come true: observing hundreds of species of some of the most beautiful –and rare- birds in the world.

There are several exclusive and strategic sites, from where to investigate and observe birds, among the most important are: The Monkey Island, The Platforms built for the purpose at Cocha Perdida, Lake Apu Victor and numerous other  beaches and marshlands (“aguajales”)
